Alan's Pride
Thanks for visiting the Alan's Pride Hungry Lion Bike Tour fundraising page. On September 26, 2026 our team will be (riding our bicycles) in the Green Mountains of Vermont and Berkshires of Massachusetts. While doing something that we enjoy immensely, we will also be helping the Deerfield Valley Lions to serve their community in a significant way.
The primary purpose of this event is to fight hunger in southern Vermont. Every December the Lions team up with the local Rotary Club to provide grocery assistance for hundreds of people in the Deerfield Valley of Southern Vermont. In recent years HLBT has also generated enough funds to write generous checks to the local food bank as well.
Our team has a very personal connection to the Hungry Lion. Alan Stewart, a former Deerfield Lion connected us to this amazing event years ago. He has since passed away, but we still continue the tradition of riding in his honor. Alan was a presence and an amazingly giving person. Alan's Pride cycling team rides to keep Alan's legacy going. We aim to make him proud and continue his efforts to help those who are in need in Southern Vermont!
Your contribution can make a difference and is fully tax deductible for you! Thanks so much for your support. We appreciate it and so do a large number of folks in Vermont!

Each year, our local LIONS CLUB works hard to raise funds for our neighbors in need by sponsoring The Hungry Lion Bike Tour , one of Southern Vermont’s premier cycling events, typically attracting hundreds of riders, friends and family members to our region. We are able to run this professional-caliber event thanks to dedicated volunteers AND the enthusiastic contributions from participants and their sponsors! Our 2026 Event will be held in person with a Virtual Option for those not able to attend in person. We also have an option for folks who would like to walk/hike!
