I'm Lincoln Allen, managing director of The Drake in Amherst, MA. I've been at the core of this non-profit, community based, arts and culture driven live music and performance venue since before day 1 - when the space was quite literally a crumbling pile of rubble and concrete. To see it grow to it's current heights, hosting upwards of 1,000 events in nearly 5 years and becoming a pillar of community in Amherst and beyond has been a privilege.
As a former Hampshire music student in the early '00s who used to catch shows at the Iron Horse across the river, it's an honor to be partnering in support of music in the valley together, and with a unified goal of sustainable and thriving live music culture.

I'm participating in Miles for Music to support two beloved nonprofit music venues, The Drake in Amherst and The Iron Horse in Northampton. My efforts will help keep live music thriving in the western Massachusetts.
Miles for Music is more than a race or walk. It's a celebration of the artists, performances, and community spaces that bring people together and make our region such a vibrant place to live, work, and visit. By literally traveling between these two nonprofit venues, participants are helping strengthen the local music ecosystem and the downtown communities it supports.
I'd be grateful for your support. Every donation helps sustain nonprofit live music, support local artists, and ensure these important community gathering spaces continue to serve the Valley for years to come.
