Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers. Kiwanis clubs address the needs of children in their own communities and around the world. Kiwanis members have fun together during social events, planning projects, raising money, and providing service. Kiwanis is a service organization that works to improve our community and to teach leadership skills to youth. The Kiwanis Club of Kirkland focuses on local needs, providing support and resources to help children and young people in Greater Kirkland. The motto for Kiwanis is “Serving the Children of the World”.
Kiwanis is unique among service clubs in offering leadership training to youth through school-based clubs. Key Clubs are based in high schools and are very active in Kirkland. Our Kiwanis Club is a sponsor for Key Clubs at International Community School, Juanita High School and Lake Washington High School. We also sponsor an Aktion Club for disabled youth and adults, thereby affording them the opportunity to serve their community.
