Dear Friends,
Charlie and I have dusted off our running shoes and decided to run the Seacoast Cancer 5K because running for Cancer patients is so important to us. Charlie and I have supported friends and family that have fought this battle and while we are healthy we have made a commitment to do our best to contribute to those in need.. I volunteered for Seacoast Hospice, walked the Jimmy Fund Marathon route, said goodbye to some very special people in our lives AND celebrated and supported friends that won the battle!
On September 27th (Charlie's 59th birthday) we will be participating in a 5k road race benefiting Wentworth-Douglass Hospital. We are counting on your donation to help us reach our personal goal. Proceeds from the Seacoast Cancer 5k benefit the Supportive and Wellness Services at Wentworth-Douglass Hospital’s Seacoast Cancer Center, offering patients and their families individualized guidance and support as they cope with cancer diagnoses and treatment. Programs include:
Education
Nutrition
Psychosocial screening
Rehab
Exercise
Support groups
Integrative therapies
Wentworth-Douglass Hospital is committed to significantly increasing the quality of life for those patients receiving cancer-directed treatment at the Seacoast Cancer Center. Please make a donation to help me reach my fundraising goal, every amount helps. To learn more about this event, please visit www.wdhospital.com/seacoastcancer5k.
We appreciate any support that you can provide. It warms our hearts to know that our friends all have the same goal......supporting the efforts of those that need our assistance.
xo,
Maribeth & Charlie
Our Hospital stands on the foundation of Arioch Wentworth's legacy, but the Wentworth-Douglass Hospital of the early 21st century is vastly different from the small Hospital that opened its doors in 1906. Ongoing philanthropy is an essential predicate for progress and growth. With the fierce challenges of operating a successful contemporary healthcare organization the need for broad gift support is greater than ever.
Wentworth-Douglass Hospital's ability to earn and receive generous donations will make us stronger and more resilient than those lacking such a base of support. These gifts will spell the difference between mediocrity and excellence, between adequate facilities and exceptional facilities, between heavy reliance on distant institutions for specialized care and the availability of a full range of services close to our own homes and families. No other gifts will pay such vital, sustained, and universal dividends for the people of the Seacoast region. You and your family can make the difference in assuring this remarkable resource abides for our own time and for the generations to follow.
