Dear Family and Friends,
As many of you know, I left the classroom last June to begin a new “job”. My new mission is near and dear to my heart. I began my teaching career at St. Patrick’s in Roxbury over 25 years ago, travelled to teach at St. Joe’s in Needham and after 12 years with the Needham Public Schools find myself rounding 3rd base and heading for home, working in the development office at Saint Columbkille Partnership School. I help raise awareness and money for this wonderfully run school.
We are a Pre-K-8 Catholic School serving Allston- Brighton and surrounding neighborhoods. We are a diverse school of 417 students, many of whom receive financial assistance. There are 17 different languages spoken, and all cultures are represented. 97% of the students are reading on or above grade level which is significantly higher than the local public school. Our teachers are awesome and I know they are making a huge difference in the lives of all our students.
This event is our ONLY fundraiser of the year and we hope to make $120,000. It takes place on April 30th at 9:30 AM. (kids race begins at 8:45) The BC Race To Educate is a 5K walk/run which begins and ends in BC's Alumni Stadium. ??
I am asking you to support this wonderful cause either by donating to my fundraising page or by registering to run/walk. It should be a fun day!
