This is the fourth Roe Jan Ramble Bike Tour- and the third time we are using the ride to raise which will be used to raise funds to be used towards the completion of the Copake Falls to Hillsdale Extension of the Harlem Valley Rail Trail.
As I have always said, raising money to build the Rail Trail is a goal close to my heart. My mother Elinor Mettler first started advocating for the Rail Trail in the 1980s, through the pages of her newspaper, the Roe Jan Independant. As the cause caught on, she was one of the founders of the Harlem Valley Rail Trail Association. How many times did we go to rallies, carrying hand-written sign bearing the words: CHATHAM OR BUST!
This is a dream which is becoming a reality. The section between Copake Falls and Orphan Farm is just beautiful.
I hope that you will contribute so that we can continue to chase the dream: CHATHAM!
Thanks for whatever you may give- no amount is too small.
Jeanne Mettler
