Can you imagine not having mountain biking in your life? This is the reality for many local Bend kids who don’t own bikes – nor know singletrack bliss exists in Bend.
There’s a solution: Boys & Girls Club of Bend’s summer mountain bike program, taking more than 650 local kids mountain biking over the past 10 years. The program was started by the now defunct Bend’s Big Fat Tour, purchasing a fleet mountain bikes, helmets and a flatbed trailer with a Bend-made bike rack. Funds lasted through the 2017 summer, so with funds finally depleted we combined forces with Mudslinger Events and the Bend Fat Tire Tour – thanks to your support in 2018 we raised over 20,000 to purchase 10 new mountain bikes and to continue the program.
Your help is needed to ensure the mountain bike camp takes place and continue to thrive in the summer of 2021 and each summer moving forward.
Each and every year funds from the Bend Fat Tire Tour will keep the camp going.
