Gotta Get Up to Get Down!

Support your athletes on this all UPHILL scramble race on July 4th

What: The Telluride Foundation is initiating the sixth Annual Rundola, Telluride’s 4th of July foot race. The Rundola is an open registration uphill foot race open from Telluride to the ridge the parallels the gondola. Telluride Foundation is the host and organizer. Video: https://vimeo.com/135370272. All proceeds benefit the Good Neighbor Fund, an emergency assistance fund for community members in the Telluride Region who are experiencing unexpected financial hardship.

Where: Runners start at the base of the gondola on the town of Telluride side and finish at the top of the ridge.  Runners and hikers will climb up the Telluride Trail

When: The run will start at 8a.m. on July 4th.  Runners ride the gondola back to Telluride or Mountain Village after the race.

Who:  Anyone who wants to race, run, hike!  The inaugural 2011 Rundola sold out with 200 participants.  We are prepared for 500 runners this year. Categories:

·       By age group & gender (12 & under; 13-18; 19-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59 Men & Women 60yrs.+)

·       Kids to the top of “kids hill”

Why:  The goal of the event is to incorporate an athletic event into the Fourth of July festivities. Fourth of July is the busiest week of the year in Telluride.  It draws more tourists than any other holiday.   An athletic event seemed to be the only thing missing from the fabulous weekend of festivities in Telluride.  The event is put on by the Telluride Foundation and any proceeds from the event will benefit the Telluride Foundation.
