Rotary Blue Ridge - New Generations is a young professionals chapter of Rotary International.  The chapter is based in Roanoke, VA and has a focus on helping the at-risk and under served youth of the Roanoke valley.  The chapter's signature event, the Star City Gran Fondo, is organized to help raise funds to support the chapter's focus.  

The Star City Gran Fondo is a grueling 100 mile cycling event in the mountains surrounding Roanoke, VA.  The participants take on the constantly rolling hills and the big mountain passes while 'enjoying' the breathtaking scenery of the area.  Each participant rides for a different personal reason whether its competition, fitness, or the general enjoyment of being outdoors.  The common thread is that all participants are helping support the designated beneficiaries of the event.

The inaugural Star City Gran Fondo was held in 2016.  Proceeds from the first year supported two $1,000 grants to local non-profits who provide programming for at-risk youth in the Roanoke valley.

100% of all donations made through this page will support the designated grant recipients of the 2017 event.  Those grant recipients are:

Family Service or Roanoke Valley - Mission: Family Service of Roanoke Valley improves life and restores hope to the most vulnerable of our neighbors, from the youngest children to the oldest adults, through prevention, counseling and support services.

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Virginia - Mission: Provide children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one relationships that change their lives for the better, forever.
