The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters is to create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth. Our mentoring model inspires youth equity and empowerment and engages intentionally with mentors, mentees and their families to help break the cycle of poverty, contribute to a healthier society and help shape the leaders of tomorrow. For many of the youth in our program, the one constant they can rely on is their connection with their Big. Matched children receive mentorship, compassion, stability and, just as importantly, time for fun. Whether it’s a trip out for ice cream, a shoulder to cry on or an empowering influence in an uncertain time, for more than 40 years Big Brothers Big Sisters Abilene has helped our Littles grow toward their fullest lives and reach their biggest futures!
