Windham Area Interfaith Ministry's annual Walk for Warmth brings our community together to raise funds for our neighbors who are struggling financially and cannot afford to pay for heat or electricity, or who have fallen behind in their rent. Each year, WAIM helps over 200 families who might be left out in the cold were it not for the support of their friends, neighbors, and people like you!

Community members will gather  together on November 19 at Temple B'nai Israel in Willimantic.  Following the interfaith thanksgiving service, everyone will walk an easy two-mile route, then return to the temple for snacks and celebration!.  Those who are still uncomfortable in a crowd and would rather walk alone, or with family or friends at a different time can still  raise funds for the Walk for Warmth by registering for a "virtual walk."

However you choose to support this event, 100% of funds raised will go directly to help our neighbors when they are most in need.

Walk for Warmth is an annual charity event sponsored by the Windham Area Interfaith Ministry to raise funds for the Energy and Housing Assistance Programs. This year will marks our 31st year of raising funds from our community to help meet our neighbors' needs when they are struggling.

Many low-income families are spending more than 10% of their household income to heat their home in addition to rent and other utilities.  On top of that, heating costs are predicted to remain high while government funded assistance is decreasing. 100% of the funds raised through this event goes directly to individuals and families who are in need of help, so your gift will make a direct impact. 

Last year, over 200 families were helped. With your support, we will continue to keep our neighbors safe and warm this winter.
