So last year I had the idea of riding my mountain bike 10 miles for every $20.00 raised, and on perhaps the hottest day of the year I set off at 6am with my good friend Charlie, and together we rode 100 miles in the woods from West Hartford Ct all the way up to MA., then back home. Completely self supported.
Putting in these miles pales in comparison to what cancer patients and their families go through on a daily basis. I have the incredible opportunity to race for a great organization that is ERRACE. Unlike most cancer charities ERRACE directly benefits cancer patients. 90% of your donations go to the Helen and Harry Gray cancer center and the Livestrong foundation.
Although I have not set out a plan for what the team calls "stupid human tricks" this year, I still continue to donate all of my race winnings along with the rest of the team. An idea rolling through my head is if I can surpass my fundraising goal then I will go for the ERRACE mtb 100 again, only this time in only 10 hours (last year it was 12)!?!?
Thanks
