Fundraising is now underway for Katelynn’s Ride/Run 2016 for Team Adam’s Animals! Adam is now over 12 years cancer free and we will once again be riding to support The Children’s Cancer Hope Fund at The Baystate Children’s Hospital. Adam received life-saving care at Baystate before heading to Boston for his stem cell transplant.
Katelynn’s Ride/Run was started in 2001 as a way to support the Jimmy Fund of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and to honor the memory of Katelynn Battista of our hometown of West Springfield who lost her fight to cancer at age eleven. Katelynn and Adam were both diagnosed with Acute Myelogenous Leukemia and were both treated at Baystate Children's Hospital and Dana Farber. We have no doubt that the funds selflessly raised by the Battista family have helped with research that made Adam’s stem cell transplant such a success. We hope that the funds we raise will provide even more success stories for families facing this horrible disease. This year all funds are being donated to local cancer centers.
Our team has raised over $60,000 since we started participating in Kride and we hope to raise thousands more for cancer research.
