When I learned of Beau's illness, I started running. I needed something to do and a way to channel the energy that was pent up with nowhere to go. I told him I was praying with my feet and I signed up to run the New York Marathon. I ran the Marathon in his memory 5 months after he died. Beau remains a true source of inspriation for me and I am honored to be able to give back to the cause he cared most about - protecting children. I can't run this year due to a recent knee surgery, but I will be walking 5k to honor his legacy and fight for children who cannot fight for themselves. The Beau Biden Foundation for the Protection of Children (BBF) was established in June 2015 as an operating non-profit to continue Beau Biden’s commitment to protect children from the threat of abuse — either at the hands of a predator or a peer.
