It’s clear we have a problem with gun violence in the U. S.. Nowhere else in the industrialized world are there mass shootings at the frequency there are here. Every time one occurs, people mourn together, they care for one another, but many are not willing to do what it takes to deal with this crisis. After a while the mourning fades into the past for the rest of the Nation. I ride because this is wrong. I ride because because I care about lives more than I care about ease of access to a breadth of weapons. I ride because the victims could be my friends, my family, or me. I’m honored to join Team 26 to raise awareness and help the forces for change to prevent further gun violence.

Sandy Hook Ride on Washington
For the 6th time, 26 cyclists will ride to honor the 26 killed at the Sandy Hook School and all victims of gun violence, to raise awareness of the public health crisis of gun violence, and to support common sense measures to reduce it. We will ride Newtown, Connecticut to Washington, D.C. from May 5 to May 8, 2018 Our ride will take us towards and through states that are working to reduce gun violence. Until members of the Congress do their jobs and pass laws to make Americans safer instead of offering thoughts and prayers for victims, we will continue to ride.
