Georgia Hi-Lo Trail is a nonprofit 501(c)3 dedicated to driving opportunity and development to empower rural Georgia by connecting an eight-county region with America's longest trail.
When complete the Georgia Hi-Lo Trail will connect to the Firefly Trail. The two trail projects will form a 250-mile paved, road-separated path through small Georgia towns from Athens to Savannah.
Firefly Trail, Inc. began their work in 2007 and have been true “trail blazers” across small communities in Georgia. The Firefly Trail begins in Athens and will end in Union Point, a distance of 39 miles when completed. Georgia Hi-Lo Trail will connect to the Firefly Trail in Union Point and continue on to Savannah through a 211-mile stretch through rural Georgia. Together the trails will connect communities and small towns from Athens to Savannah, driving opportunity for economic development and improved quality of life in rural Georgia.
